The more you ride a motorcycle, the more you are probably paying attention to your bike, your gear, and your overall experience when driving. Motorcycle gear is extremely valuable and comes in many forms. From safety gear to riding accessories, there are a number of things that you can buy to enhance your experience and the following are some of the most common.
1. Riding Helmets
A motorcycle helmet is arguably the most important piece of gear that you can have and it not only enhances your riding experience in several ways but it’s also your number-one safety item. Motorcycle riders are completely exposed and while wrecks may be rare, it’s comforting to know that you are prepared for anything. Helmets also protect against bugs, wind, and debris, which can improve vision and visibility while riding. These days, motorcycle helmets are even stylish.
2. The Clothing
Motorcycle riders often have a certain look, which comes from the clothing that is almost exclusively worn by motorcycle riders. The pants, the jacket, and the riding boots all have a distinct style and they are worn for both safety and appearance purposes. This is because motorcycle clothing is designed to protect against injuries such as road rashes. You can find clothing that is, for example, Kevlar-based, making it ultra-durable and protective.
3. Bike Tool Kits
You may have all the tools you need at home but they also make travel kits that you can bring with you in case something happens while riding. Wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, cable ties, and other motorcycle gear are available in small, convenient kits and they can be extremely useful in unexpected situations. All of the tools will be held in an organizer roll that can attach to your bike somewhere or be stored in a compartment if you have one.
4. Phone Mounts
They make phone mounts for automobiles but they also make them for motorcycles. While they are essentially the same, motorcycle phone mounts have added protection so that they remain stable during travel. It is, of course, important to keep your eyes on the road but phone mounts can be handy for navigation and for those who take a lot of important phone calls.
It can also mean responding more quickly to an emergency and you can link your phone with a Bluetooth communication system to hear directions or phone calls.
5. Bluetooth Ear Pieces
If you have an ear piece, you can wear it while riding and you can sync it to your phone so that you can hear your driving directions without having to take your eyes off of the phone. You can also listen to music or answer phone calls if you absolutely must. Some devices even have multitasking features that allow you to do all of these things at once. While it’s generally ill-advised to talk on the phone while driving, this is the safest way to do so if you ever needed to.
